About the Journal

Journal of Global Engineering Systems (JGES) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to rigorous research and practice that advances the design, modelling, operation, integration, safety, and resilience of engineered systems.

JGES brings together systems thinking and engineering practice across infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, digital technologies, mobility, the built environment, and environmental systems. It provides a multidisciplinary forum for engineers, researchers, designers, technologists, asset owners, policymakers, and practitioners working in established and emerging contexts.

The journal particularly welcomes work that connects fundamental engineering knowledge with practical solutions for reliable, efficient, sustainable, and human-centred systems. Research may address system architecture, design and construction, operation and maintenance, automation, safety, lifecycle performance, digital transformation, or real-world engineering applications. Experimental, computational, analytical, simulation, field-based, design-science, and interdisciplinary approaches are all within scope.

Engineering systems for reliable, sustainable, and resilient futures.

JGES aims to advance evidence and technical knowledge that improves the performance, safety, efficiency, sustainability, and resilience of engineered systems. The journal welcomes scholarship that links engineering principles with systems integration, digital innovation, industrial practice, infrastructure delivery, and real-world decision-making across sectors and regions.

The journal welcomes contributions across, but not limited to, the following engineering systems areas:
